Table Tennis Tournament

Table Tennis Tournament of RTU Open has become a long-time tradition. This year it will be held in parallel with blitz tournament. If you want to rest from chess in another friendly competition, see you on Wednesday, August 8, at 10:00 at 1a Meža street!

To participate, please sign up at Infodesk in tournament hall before Tuesday, August 7, 22:00. A symbolic participation charge of 50 cents needs to be paid upon registration.

Tour and chocolate workshop in the Chocolate Museum

Chocolate factory “Laima”, once the most popular factory in the Soviet Union, is still number one provider of sweets in Latvia and one of the largest players in the regional market. Some of the recipes even date back to the beginning of 20^th century! Within the tour, you will visit factory’s Chocolate museum with a guide.

You will also have opportunity to get into the skin of chocolate master and make a lovely souvenir in the chocolate workshop.

Have a sweet morning on Friday, August 10, from 9:10 – 13:00!

To participate, please sign up and pay the fee at Infodesk in tournament hall before Thursday, August 9, 16:30. The bus will depart from tournament hall.  Participation fee: 18 EUR.

The tour may be cancelled if the number of participants will not reach 10.

Dinner reception

Dinner reception traditionally will be held in a buffet form on a terrace on the 11th floor with a view to old Riga – one of the nicest places to spend time. Have a nice chat with other participants on Friday, August 10 at 20:30 in Āzenes 6!

To participate, please sign up and, if required, pay the fee at Infodesk in tournament hall before Wednesday, August 8, 22:00. Participation is free for grandmasters, otherwise the fee is: 15 EUR. Note: grandmasters do not have to pay, however, still have to fill out registration.
